Here is a list of useful sites for children related stuff which I have collated so you don't have to spend ages on a mammoth 'search the intenet' expedition:
- Amani Children's Home - Tanzania children's charity. A small non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that runs a home for orphans and street-children on the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa.
- BBC Schools and Parents - info on school for parents. The BBC have a lot of useful info and this is just one section. It provides articles on revision for all curriculum's and courses, plus info on the web and everything else that kids have grown up around, which parents might not be as savvy with compared to the sprogs.
- Baby bottle museum Baby bottle museum site covering the history of infant feeding through the ages antique vintage bottles
- Cow and Gate - baby milk and pregnancy advice. Knowledge on every stage of early child development from colic to baby formula.
- Family Investments - savings for children. Providers of childrens trust funds, tax credits and long term tax free savings for your little'uns, if you have them, otherwise quite a nice site to look at anyway thanks to Mr Hargreaves.
- Give it up for children - donations for UK charities. Make a new year's resolutions or challenge a friend to give up smoking for charity.
- Literacy Trust - encouraging reading. A great organisation that, among other things, provides support networks to aid reading groups.
- Milupa - more pregnancy advice. From weaning to brain development.
- National Childrens Home - childrens housing charity. Advice and information on foster care, adopting children and internet safety.
- Nickleodeon - 'toons and more. A completely fun and safe site with lots of interactive games, music and chat (plus the obvious adverts for their shows).
- Cold and Flu Relief - Benylin Information about cough and cold from Benylin, the cough and cold experts
- Pregnancy Info - a pregnancy forum. Info for mums, potential parents and anyone in need of pregnancy tests. If you have a baby, young child or are planning on giving birth, this is a very useful resource for issues about being pregnant.
- Teething Babies. "Teething Babies provides expert info. about teething
and helps you through the whole teething experience. Also provides an
interactive teething chart and downloadable development plan."
- World Wildlife Fund - "kids stuff". A mix of educational and fun information all about animals and the biodiversity of life.
- Yahooligans - kids web guide. As you would expect from Yahoo, a comprehensive site filled to the brim with stuff for to keep them occupied.
